About Me
Born and raised in the Bahamas, Braxton spent his younger years growing up between Harbour Island and Current Eleuthera. At fourteen he started taking photos with his ipod touch, at fifteen he shared a camera with his best friend Antwan Dean for six months and later that year purchased his very own camera and began learning and photographing everything he saw.
Throughout the last years of highschool Braxton grew more and more in love with photography and decided to further his education, by attending Full Sail University located in Orlando Florida, it was here where Braxton honed more of his skills particularly his portraiture work. Braxton graduated as one of the top students in his class with a bachelor's degree in film science.
Upon graduation Braxton lived in Florida for two years where he started to work as a photographer and came up with the idea for his studio Near The Beach Studios. In December 2020 Braxton decided to move back to his hometown of Harbour Island. When he moved back home Braxton began working at many different establishments trying to figure out what he’s going to do about his career. After a year of working “normal jobs” he took a bold step and created his own business called Near The Beach Studios.
Today Near The Beach Studios is a household name around Harbour Island, Braxton has photographed much of Harbour Island including: landscapes, animals, people, astronomical imaging, and underwater landscapes. He continues to photograph every and anything that interests him and hopes to someday get to photograph the many nations of the world and many of the people that inhabit it.
